First flight number G9 027 landed in Odessa on October 12 at 13:20, and thus increased the number of routes of the Air Arabia for another one city. Now Odessa becomes the fourth largest city in Ukraine, where the airline flies.

The inaugural Air Arabia flight was met by the official delegation of the Odessa International Airport, as well as media. Commenting on the start of flights to Odessa, Mr. Rohit Ramachandran, Air Arabia Sales and Marketing Director, said: "This flight is particularly important for us, as it marks a new phase in the increased presence of Air Arabia in Ukraine and CIS. Now Air Arabia offers 10 weekly flights between the UAE and Ukraine from Kiev, Donetsk, Kharkov and Odessa”.

Sergei Gombolevsky, Executive Director of  Odessa International Airport LLC said «Air Arabia has a reputation of perfect punctuality performing its flights. We have no doubt that the citizens of Odessa will benefit this offered and the route will be popular".


Already on the first flight from Odessa to Sharjah it was sold 154 tickets. Route will serve the 162-seat Airbus 320. To its customers Air Arabia offers the best economy class configuration with a spacious seat pitch (the distance between backs of chairs) of 32 inches (84 cm)  

The carrier will offer two weekly services between Sharjah and Odessa on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Air Arabia is the first and largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa. Air Arabia commenced operations in October 2003 and operates one aircraft type. Current fleet consists of 27 new Airbus A320 aircraft. The company has an existing order with for 44 Airbus A320 aircraft.

Air Arabia operates services to over 78 destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, South and Central Asia from its three hubs in Sharjah (UAE); Casablanca (Morocco) and Alexandria (Egypt).

In 2008  Air Arabia launched operations from Ukraine. Now it operates from Kiev, Donetsk, Harkov and Odessa.
